When Lissa was in Nashville last December, director Bill Filipiak shot a series of interviews with her, as well as live performances, at Turner-Up Studio.
In one of the interviews, Lissa talked about why she loves to write about Colorado. “In Nashville, they say to write what you know,” Lissa explains. “When I came back to Colorado after living in Nashville for 10 years, I had a bit of a writing slump — it happens to the best of us. To break out of my slump, I began writing songs for my friends in Guffey, songs about Colorado.”
Those songs became the foundation for her latest album, My Colorado. You can watch Lissa’s interview below.
